Despair not of the mercy of Allah

Have you ever feel so worse about your ownself? Such that you almost lose any hope to return back to Allah. Most of us must have experience this feeling to some extent.
Whatsoever, to lose hope is never an option for any of those who claim to be a believer. Allah told us the story in: Surah Al-A’raf, 7:11-25
Finish reading? Yeah!!!! I manage to force you guys to open up the Qur’an, may Allah reward me 4 that.
Not only disobeying Allah order, iblis dare to blame Allah for his own mistake:
قَالَ فَبِمَآ أَغْوَيْتَنِى لأَقْعُدَنَّ لَهُمْ صِرَطَكَ الْمُسْتَقِيم
(16. (Iblis) said: "Because You have misguided me, surely, I will sit in wait against them (human beings) on Your straight path. (Al-A’raf, 7:16)
Bcoz of this fault reasoning, iblis failed to come back to Allah but can only ask for respite. Different cases for Adam, he admit his own mistake and repent to Allah
رَبَّنَا ظَلَمْنَآ أَنفُسَنَا وَإِن لَّمْ تَغْفِرْ لَنَا وَتَرْحَمْنَا لَنَكُونَنَّ مِنَ الْخَـسِرِينَ
(23. They said: "Our Lord! We have wronged ourselves. If You forgive us not, and bestow not upon us Your mercy, we shall certainly be of the losers.'') (Al-A’raf, 7:23)
This is what makes us different from the Iblis. As a human being, we’re created to do sin. The only thing that matters is whether we are able to come back to Him or not. Remember, our beloved prophet said:
‘If you did not commit sins, Allah would create people who would sin so that He could forgive them’ (Imam Ahmad, Muslim in his Sahih, At-Tirmidhi).
How can we even think of losing hope when Allah himself promised us that He will forgive whatsoever/any/all sins that we do if we go back to Him. Allah said:
Say: "O My servants who have transgressed against themselves! Despair not of the mercy of Allah, verily, Allah forgives all sins. Truly, He is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.'' (Az-Zumar, 39:53)
Thus, there’s no doubt that there’s no single sin in this world that Allah can’t forgive. Beautiful comment from Ibnu Mas’ud regarding this verse:
The Ayah in the Qur'an which brings the most relief is in Surat Az-Zumar: (Say: "O My servants who have transgressed against themselves! Despair not of the mercy of Allah.'')
(Tafseer Ibnu Kathir)

WAIT A MINUTE BRO!!!
But Allah said in surah An-Nisa’: 4:48,
Allah forgives not that partners should be set up with Him; but He forgives anything else, to whom He pleases; to set up partners with Allah is to devise a sin Most heinous indeed.
How can we combine this verse with the previous verse? Seems like the two verses are contradicting to each other. Wanna know the answer?
To be continued......

  1. surah nisa is talking about those who associate partners with allah azza wa jaal e.g. christians believe jesus to be the son of god thus they do shirk and allah does not forgive those who do shirk unless they turn away from it and never do it again however if they were to die in a state of shirk they would to jahanaam whether it is minor or major allahu alam
