Loving Allah In Hard Times.

I've been thinking about life and what is life without love of Allah. It's something to ponder, something to think about. Life gets harder when you hit rockbottom. When God test you with hardship and afflictions, we have to understand that problems does not occur solely because of a human being. Picture a scenario where an individual tries so hard to score in an exam, but at the end, he failed the exam. Was it the individual or its just Allah's will?

Personally, human heart won't take things positively if they face problems. I'm telling this from personal experience. You would mock the situation, saying bad things about the situation and consequences, scream your lungs out on the bad things that fall upon you. Yes, we certainly whine a lot don't we? Asking for better things, complaining about miseries of life and too much we forgot the blessings of God. And the hikmah of every test we went through, we just didn't get it after all those problems we faced. Its kind of a funny thing that we try to love God everyday, but when bad things happen, we just forgot about the reason of loving God. Well, isn't it our nature to overlook things, no?

A wise friend of mine once went through a predicament in which it almost jeopardizes his education, and of course, his future. That was a hard time for him. I knew him well enough to see what kind of person he is. And one thing that caught me off guard was his reactions, the way he took the problem, the way he handle it around. And he told me this, "In life, when we face difficulties (or didn't get what we wanted), don't ever despise His Qadr (destiny)". Because Allah has thought of something better to give us. Isn't He the most merciful?; He smiled. And that was one of the most beautiful smile I had ever saw from such a person.

On the authority of Abdullah bin Abbas:
Who said One day I was behind the prophet and he said to me: "Young man, I shall teach you some words [of advice]: Be mindful of Allah, and Allah will protect you. Be mindful of Allah, and you will find Him in front of you. If you ask, ask of Allah; if you seek help, seek help of Allah. Know that if the Nation were to gather together to benefit you with anything, it would benefit you only with something that Allah had already prescribed for you, and that if they gather together to harm you with anything, they would harm you only with something Allah had already prescribed for you. The pens have been lifted and the pages have dried."

Its easy to turn to God when we fall down in hard times, but a strong muslim turns to God 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, non-stop, whether it's good times or bad times. So, don't despair when Allah test you with hard times. Don't be sad when He puts you through His trials. Its a temporal world that we're living in. It's not worth dying for. But it's worth fighting for. For Allah has prepared paradise for the believers.
